Regular Season Round 9: Cerignola Udas - Nardo 63-61

There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Cerignola Udas (3-6) edged at home 12th ranked Nardo (3-6) 63-61 on Sunday. Cerignola Udas dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Nardo's 18. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for point guard Nunzio Sabbatino (188-92, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 5 assists. Forward Giovanni Gambarota (190-89) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Stefano Provenzano (195-86) answered with 21 points and swingman Alessandro Poti (192-91) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Nardo. Cerignola Udas moved-up to twelfth place in B, which they share with Desio and Bernareggio. Cerignola Udas will face higher ranked Pescara (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
