Regular Season Round 18: Cyberdyne IR - Kumamoto V. 61-81

The game between Top Four teams took place in Tsukuba. Second-best host Cyberdyne IR (9-8) was smashed by third ranked Kumamoto V. (12-5) 81-61. Kumamoto V. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cyberdyne IR's 22 and made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Kumamoto V. players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) contributed with 7 points and 12 assists for the winners. Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-91) replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Josei Maniwa (193-86) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Cyberdyne IR. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kumamoto V. have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ehime OV and Fukushima. Cyberdyne IR at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Kumamoto V.'s next round opponent will be league's leader Fukuoka Rizing at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cyberdyne IR will play against the league's leader Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
