The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Dragonflies' (8-9) road victory over 5th ranked Aomori Watts (3-14) 90-81 on Sunday. Dragonflies made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds and forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Dragonflies maintains fourth position with 8-9 record, which they share with Gunma. Loser Aomori Watts keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Dragonflies will face Shinshu BW (#4) in Nagano in the next round. Aomori Watts will play on the road against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
