Regular Season Round 8: Bologna - Alghero 80-50

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Bologna (7-1) outplayed at home 13th ranked Alghero (1-7) 80-50 on Sunday. Bologna dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Alghero's 28. Bologna forced 26 Alghero turnovers and outrebounded them 36-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. The former international point guard Raelin DAlie (168-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Elisabetta Tassinari (175-94) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Bologna players scored in double figures. Bologna's coach Giancarlo Giroldi felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bulgarian forward Veronika Dzhikova (178-90) replied with 9 points and 6 rebounds and Arianna Beretta (178-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 15 points in the effort for Alghero. Bologna maintains third position in A2 with 7-1 record behind leader Sesto SG. Loser Alghero dropped to the fifteenth place with seven games lost. Bologna will face Savonese (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alghero will play against Spezzina (#6) and hope to win that game.
