We should mention about the upset which took place in Thorlakshofn, where 8th ranked Valur (3-5) lost to eleventh ranked Thor Thorl (2-6) in a road game 68-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Valur. Thor Thorl players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by American guard D.J. Balentine (191-93, college: Evansville, agency: Inception Sports) who scored that evening 23 points and 4 assists and forward Olafur Jonsson (192-92) supported him with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Thor Thorl players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds by American forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Valur. Naturalized American guard Austin Bracey (190-90) added 23 points for the guests. Valur's coach Agust Bjorgvinsson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Thor Thorl moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Thor AK. Newly promoted Valur dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Thor Thorl's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Hottur (#12) in Egilsstadir.
