The game in Rishon Le-Zion was also quite interesting. 4th placed Ironi Nahariya (4-3) played at the court of sixth ranked Maccabi Rishon (4-3). Maccabi Rishon managed to secure a 4-point victory 92-88 on Sunday. Ironi Nahariya was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 31-23 charge of Maccabi Rishon, which allowed them to win the game. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American guard Drew Crawford (196-90, college: Northwestern) fired 32 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. His fellow American import forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. American swingman Alex Young (198-89, college: IUPUI, agency: Two Points) produced 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and New Zealand guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Maccabi Rishon moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Ironi Nahariya. Maccabi Rishon will meet Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#7) on the road in the next round. Ironi Nahariya will play against Maccabi Ashdod and hope to secure a win.
