Regular Season Round 9: Scauri - Catanzaro 63-62

Very expected game when 12th ranked Catanzaro (3-6) was edged on the road by eighth ranked Scauri (5-4) 63-62 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a good game for forward Davide Serino (199-81) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Vincenzo Provenzani (188-99) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Scauri's coach Renato Sabatino used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Argentinian guard Nicolas Morici (192-94, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Matteo Botteghi (203-95) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Catanzaro. Four Catanzaro players scored in double figures. Scauri moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Olginate. Loser Catanzaro keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. Scauri will face Cassino (#7) on the road in the next round. Catanzaro will play against the league's second-placed Roma Luiss (#2) and hope to win that game.
