Regular Season Round 9: Basket Gdynia - Widzew 97-62

Bottom-ranked Widzew (0-8) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Basket Gdynia (6-3) 97-62 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Basket Gdynia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Widzew's 38. They outrebounded Widzew 47-30 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Basket Gdynia looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Widzew's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Kahleah Copper (185-94, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Basket Gdynia's coach Gundars Vetra felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
