Regular Season Round 9: CCC Polkowice - Energa Torun 70-50

The game in Polkowice supposed to be also quite interesting. 5th ranked Energa Torun (4-4) played at the court of seventh ranked CCC Polkowice (5-4). CCC Polkowice did not have too big problems ending evening with a very confident victory 70-50 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Energa Torun. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when CCC Polkowice's pressure prevailed and they won that period 21-8 extending their advantage to 20 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Energa Torun's 34. CCC Polkowice looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Bria Holmes (185-94, college: W.Virginia) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and Latvian point guard Elina Dikeoulakou (173-89) chipped in 11 points and 7 assists. CCC Polkowice's coach Georgios Dikeoulakos used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American center Kelley Cain (198-89, college: Tennessee) with 7 points and 10 rebounds and Australian guard Lauren Mansfield (170-89, college: Iowa St., agency: ProDep Management) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for CCC Polkowice. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Energa Torun dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. CCC Polkowice will face TS Ostrovia (#9) in Ostrow Wlkp. in the next round. Energa Torun will play at home against Basket Gdynia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
