Regular Season Round 7: Nice - Lyon 67-86

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Lyon and 9th ranked Nice had identical 2-4 record. But Nice was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Lyon 86-67. Lyon outrebounded Nice 39-27 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for international center Sandrine Gruda (193-87, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke, agency: ProDep Management) accounted for 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Lyon's coach Valery Demory allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international power forward Geraldine Robert (183-80) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and Mamignan Toure (183-94) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for Nice in the defeat. Five Lyon and four Nice players scored in double figures. Lyon (3-4) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hainaut and Nantes. Nice at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Lyon's next round opponent will be Hainaut (#7) in Saint-Amand. Nice will play on the road against Roche in La Roche and hope to win that game.
