Regular Season Round 7: Dandenong - Bendigo 80-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Bendigo Spirit's (2-9) road loss to sixth ranked Dandenong Rangers (5-5) 70-80. Dandenong Rangers players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Stephanie Cumming-Blicavs (178-90) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Tessa Lavey (172-93) contributed with 19 points for the winners. The former international center Gabrielle Richards (191-84, college: Oregon) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Betnijah Laney (183-93, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Bendigo Spirit. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dandenong Rangers maintains sixth place with 5-5 record. Bendigo Spirit lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Dandenong Rangers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Adelaide Lightning (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bendigo Spirit will play against Canberra Capitals and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
