Regular Season Round 11: Rocamora - Gimnasia LP 86-61

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Gimnasia LP (6-3) on the court of eighth ranked Rocamora on Monday night. Visitors were rolled over by Rocamora 86-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gimnasia LP. Rocamora dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Gimnasia LP's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Joaquin Deck (198-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 7 rebounds. Uruguayan forward Gaston Semiglia (192-91) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Rocamora players scored in double figures. Power forward Lisandro Villa (198-87) answered with 20 points and American forward Brandon Nazione (202-94, college: E.Michigan) added 15 points in the effort for Gimnasia LP. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rocamora (2-7) moved-up to seventh place. Gimnasia LP at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Atenas Carmen. Rocamora are looking forward to face higher ranked Parque Sur (#6) in Concepcion de Urug. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gimnasia LP will have a break next round.
