We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Issa Town where 10th ranked Isa Town (2-7) was crushed by eleventh ranked Al-Bahrain (3-7) 83-61 on Monday. Al-Bahrain forced 22 Isa Town turnovers and outrebounded them 47-23 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Merrill Holden (203-93, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 25 rebounds. Fadhel Abbas helped adding 21 points. Mahmood Aziz responded with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Mansoor Jaber scored 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al-Bahrain moved-up to tenth place. Loser Isa Town dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Al-Bahrain will face league's leader Al-Ahli in Manama in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Isa Town will play against Al-Riffa (#6) and hope to win that game.
