Very predictable result when fourth ranked Maccabi K/G (5-1) won against on the road 9th ranked Elitzur Yavne (2-4) 90-85 on Tuesday. Maccabi K/G made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. The former international center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: Octagon Europe) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 20 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized Polish point guard Nimrod Tishman (197-91, agency: Avi Zilberman) supported him with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Even a double-double of 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists by American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) did not help to save the game for Elitzur Yavne. His fellow American import power forward Adom Jacko (203-94, college: Loyola Mary) added 20 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi K/G moved-up to second place, which they share with Hap.R/G Givat. and Hap.Haifa. Newly promoted Elitzur Yavne dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Maccabi K/G will meet at home league's second-placed Hap.Haifa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Elitzur Yavne will play against Maccabi Raanana (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
