Regular Season Round 9: Pyrinto II - ToPo 58-82

The game in Tampere supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked ToPo (6-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Pyrinto II (4-5). ToPo smashed Pyrinto II 82-58 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Pyrinto II 33-20 including a 25-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. ToPo looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when ToPo made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Milton Jennings (206-90, college: Clemson) who led his team to a victory with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Juuso Kauppinen (188-94) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five ToPo players scored in double figures. ToPo's coach Pekka Konttinen felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo, agency: Two Points) answered with 9 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Antti Keski-Koukkari (192-90) added 15 points in the effort for Pyrinto II. ToPo maintains third place in Division with 6-2 record having just three points less than leader HBA-Marsky. Loser Pyrinto II dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. ToPo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena HBA-Marsky.
