Regular Season Round 6: Tresnjevka - Beroe 86-72

The most important game in the last round took place in Zagreb between third ranked Bulgarian Beroe (2-4) and fifth ranked Croatian Tresnjevka (3-3) on Wednesday night. Beroe was defeated by Tresnjevka on the road 86-72. It was a great shooting night for Tresnjevka especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Andjela Katavic (177-99) scored 27 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Lucija Kostic (187-0) chipped in 10 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Five Tresnjevka players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Tearra Banks (188-95, college: Austin Peay St.) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Birttney Wright (178-94, college: Alabama St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Beroe's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tresnjevka moved-up to third place in A. Beroe at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Play Off. Tresnjevka are looking forward to face Play Off (#4) in Sarajevo in the next round. Beroe will play on the road against the league's leader Buducnost in Podgorica and is hoping to win this game.
