Important game to mention about took place in Stjarnan. Fourth ranked Stjarnan (5-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-ranked Haukar (5-3) 76-75 in the fight for the second place. The winners were led by American guard Danielle Rodriguez (178-93, college: Utah) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Sylvia Halfdanardottir (182-98) supported her with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Four Stjarnan players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists by the former international swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (184-88, college: TCU) did not help to save the game for Haukar. American guard Cherise Daniel (180-87, college: Ohio St.) added 19 points and 6 assists for the guests. Stjarnan moved-up to second place, which they share with Haukar and Skallagrimur. Stjarnan will play against Breidablik (#5) in Kopavogur in the next round. Haukar will play on the road against Njardvik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
