Regular Season Round 6: Ragusa - Celje 57-90

Bottom-ranked Croatian Ragusa (0-6) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to seventh ranked Slovenian Celje (5-1) 90-57. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ragusa's 28 and made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ragusa 42-28 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Celje players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for Croatian Iva Slonjsak (183-97) who led her team to a victory with 29 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Croatian center Andrea Maric (195-97, agency: PEPI SPORT) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Celje players scored in double figures. Celje's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Josipa Zovko (186-90) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Petra Stankovic (180-91) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ragusa. Celje have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Slovenian champion maintains seventh position in B with 5-1 record, which they share with Montana 2003. Ragusa at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Celje's next round opponent will be Montana 2003 (#7) at home. Ragusa will play against Partizan (#9) in Beograd and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
