Regular Season Round 9: HBA-Marsky - Oulun NMKY 69-73

The most surprising game was the first loss of HBA-Marsky (8-1) in Helsinki on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by ninth ranked Oulun NMKY (4-5) 73-69. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 38-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American forward Jack Pasquini (203-93, college: CS East Bay) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Micah Dunhour (198-93, college: CS East Bay) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Elias Valtonen (198-99) answered with 15 points and 5 assists and forward Mikael Jantunen (203-0) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for HBA-Marsky. HBA-Marsky's coach Antti Koskelainen tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Oulun NMKY moved-up to eighth place in Division. HBA-Marsky at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Oulun NMKY are looking forward to face higher ranked Lahti (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. HBA-Marsky will play against the league's second-placed TuNMKY (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
