Regular Season Round 8: Dandenong - Perth 62-74

Date: November 23, 2017
There was no surprise when 6th ranked Dandenong Rangers (5-7) were defeated at home by fourth ranked Perth Lynx (8-4) 74-62 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was American guard Courtney Williams (173-94, college: S.Florida) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. International guard Tessa Lavey (172-93) produced 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international guard Stephanie Cumming-Blicavs (178-90) added 17 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Perth Lynx have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Townsville and Sydney. Loser Dandenong Rangers keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Perth Lynx will face Adelaide Lightning (#5) on the road in the next round. Dandenong Rangers will play against Bendigo Spirit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
