Regular Season Round 9: Ura Basket - Porvoon Tarmo 149-61

Very expected game when 11th ranked Porvoon Tarmo (1-8) was smashed by fourth ranked Ura Basket (6-2) in Kaarina 149-61 on Friday. The game without a history. Ura Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 66.2 percent from the field and made 30-of-36 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while Porvoon Tarmo only scored two points from the stripe. Ura Basket forced 26 Porvoon Tarmo turnovers and outrebounded Porvoon Tarmo 41-24 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ura Basket shot the lights out from three sinking 21 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 41 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Porvoon Tarmo's players. Porvoon Tarmo was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for swingman Joona Airenne (197-98) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Guard Trey Niemi (185-98) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Five Ura Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Elias Lahdensuu (193-98) answered with 20 points and forward Juho Gummerus (201-97) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Porvoon Tarmo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ura Basket maintains fourth place in Division with 6-2 record. Loser Porvoon Tarmo keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. Ura Basket will face Oulun NMKY (#8) on the road in the next round. Porvoon Tarmo will play against Korikouvot in Kouvola and hope to win that game.
