Regular Season Round 13: Fuerza Regia - Libertadores 87-83

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Fuerza Regia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Fuerza Regia defeated 11th ranked Libertadores in Monterrey 87-83. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican point guard Denis Clemente (183-86, college: Kansas St.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 assists. Argentinian guard Cristian Cortez (185-90) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Dominican-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Libertadores. Four Fuerza Regia and five Libertadores players scored in double figures. Libertadores' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Libertadores lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Libertadores will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Fuerza Regia will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Libertadores in Queretaro.
