The game between closely ranked teams ended with 15th ranked Moncalieri's (1-9) road loss to fourteenth ranked Alba (3-7) 54-58 on Saturday. Alba outrebounded Moncalieri 49-38 including a 39-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Claudio Maino (180-91) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Paolo Gallo (200-90) chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Guglielmo De-Ros (185-98) responded with 14 points and naturalized Nigerian power forward Emmanuel Enihe (198-98) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Moncalieri's coach Marco Spanu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alba moved-up to thirteenth place in B. Loser Moncalieri keeps the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Alba will face Libertas (#16) in Livorno in the next round. Moncalieri will play on the road against Varese Robur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
