Undefeated leader Gran Canaria delivered the ninth consecutive victory. This time they beat 12th ranked Adareva (2-7) 76-67 in Laguna. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 21-10 run, which allowed them to win the game. Gran Canaria outrebounded Adareva 52-33 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American point guard Starr Breedlove (168-93, college: UTEP) nailed 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and her fellow American import guard Erica Covile (185, college: Temple) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. American forward TyDesheaia Pool (185, college: SE Louisiana) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and Chilean point guard Sendy Basaez (170-96) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for Adareva in the defeat. Adareva's coach Maria Sosa let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Gran Canaria. They maintain first place in Group B with 9-0 record. Adareva at the other side keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Gran Canaria's next round opponent will be Distrito Olimpico (#8) in Madrid and are hoping to win another game. Adareva will play on the road against Valencia (#7) and hope to win that game.
