Very important is a road loss of second ranked Myrtia (7-3) against thirteenth ranked Plasencia (4-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Myrtia was crushed by Plasencia in Plasencia 89-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Myrtia. The game was mostly controlled by Plasencia. Myrtia managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Myrtia 40-22 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Plasencia looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Myrtia's players. Point guard Adrian Fuentes (183-87) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 assists for the winners. Guard Fernando Sierra (194-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Plasencia players scored in double figures. American center Chris Matagrano (206-90, college: New Hampshire) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and French guard Kevin Franceschi (190-93, college: Oklah.Baptist) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Plasencia moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Navarra and Real Canoe. Myrtia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Plasencia will meet higher ranked Albacete (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
