Regular Season Round 9: Avenida - Gernika 75-55

LFB top team - Perfumerias Avenida (8-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Gernika (4-5) in Salamanca 75-55. American-FYR Macedonian Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and Brazilian center Erika De-Souza (197-82, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Miguel Angel Ortega allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Russian forward Marina Bas (194-85) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Ameryst Alston (175-93, college: Ohio St.) scored 15 points. Perfumerias Avenida have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-1 record. Gernika at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with AE Sedis. Perfumerias Avenida will play against Mann Filter (#6) in Zaragoza in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Gernika will play at home against Gipuzkoa UPV and hopes to get back on the winning track.
