Regular Season Round 9: ADBA - Ensino 59-77

No shocking result in a game in Aviles where seventh ranked Maquinaria Ensino (6-4) defeated 10th ranked ADBA (3-6) 77-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Maquinaria Ensino led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American-Irish forward Fiona ODwyer (182-99, college: Emmanuel, MA) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Jordynn Gaymon (185, college: Radford) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Maquinaria Ensino players scored in double figures. Maquinaria Ensino's coach Fernando Buendia used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Isis Thorpe (173-95, college: VCU) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Ashley Beals (183, college: Miss.Valley St.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Maquinaria Ensino. They maintain seventh place in Group A with 6-4 record. Loser ADBA keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face higher ranked Barca CBS (#4) in Barcelona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ADBA will play on the road against Arxil Pontevedra (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
