Regular Season Round 9: Zamarat - Mann Filter 74-81

Very expected game when 12th ranked Zamarat (1-8) lost to fifth ranked Mann Filter (6-3) in Zamora 74-81 on Saturday. Zamarat was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Italian-Paraguayan swingman Paola Ferrari (178-85, college: Union, TN, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. American swingman Shacobia Barbee (179-94, college: Georgia, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-94, college: S.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and guard Marina Lizarazu (173-95, college: Iona) added 21 points in the effort for Zamarat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mann Filter moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gipuzkoa UPV and Sant Adria. Zamarat lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. Mann Filter will face league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zamarat will play on the road against Socinsa Bembibre (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
