Regular Season Round 9: NPC Rieti - Agrigento 68-74

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked NPC Rieti (3-6) lost at home to sixth ranked Agrigento (5-4) 74-68 on Sunday. Agrigento forced 19 NPC Rieti turnovers. It was a good game for guard Marco Evangelisti (198-84) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 4 assists. American forward Jalen Cannon (198-93, college: St.Francis, NY) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American-Nigerian Jamal Olasewere (201-91, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: HMS) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international power forward Angelo Gigli (209-83) added 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) in the effort for NPC Rieti. Four NPC Rieti players scored in double figures. Agrigento moved-up to fifth place in A2. Loser NPC Rieti dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Agrigento will face Virtus Roma (#15) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NPC Rieti will play against the league's leader Novipiu Casale and hope to win that game.
