The most interesting game of round 8 in the Serie A1 was a home defeat of 7th ranked Vigarano (3-5) by sixth ranked Napoli (4-4) who outscored them by 24 points 84-60. Napoli looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Greek-American guard Jacki Gemelos (182-88, college: USC) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and New Zealand Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) who added 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Ghanian-American forward Batabe Zempare (188-94, college: CSU Bakersfield, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Benedetta Bagnara (178-87, agency: LBM Management) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Vigarano's coach Luca Andreoli gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Napoli have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ragusa. Vigarano at the other side keeps the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Broni. Napoli is looking forward to face Torino (#9) at home in the next round. Vigarano will play against San Martino in San Martino di L and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
