Regular Season Round 12: Tromso - Baerum Basket 85-83

Date: November 26, 2017
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Baerum Basket (6-9) was edged on the road by eighth ranked Tromso (6-8) 85-83 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Baerum Basket won fourth quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Baerum Basket 47-30 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tromso looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shawntez Patterson (201-90, college: Alabama St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Henrik Lange (192-95) who added 11 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Patterson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Canadian guard Keith Omoerah (194-92) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Gaute Haugen (190-97) scored 19 points. Four Tromso and five Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. Tromso moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Nidaros Jets. Baerum Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Tromso will face Nidaros Jets (#7) in Tromdheim in the next round.
