An interesting game took place in Nuevo Laredo where higher ranked Aaguacateros (6-6) were upset on the court of ninth ranked Toros (5-9) 102-93. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aaguacateros. Toros made 27-of-31 charity shots (87.1 percent) during the game. Strangely Aaguacateros outrebounded Toros 43-23 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 28 personal fouls committed by Aaguacateros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International forward Idris Alvarado (196-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 4 assists. American guard Roberto Nelson (190-91, college: Oregon St.) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Five Toros players scored in double figures. Dominican guard Juan Coronado (193-83) replied with 29 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Aaguacateros. Aaguacateros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toros moved-up to eighth place. Aaguacateros at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Toros will have a break next round.
