Regular Season Round 10: Faenza - Volpino 94-62

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Faenza (5-5) outscored at home 16th ranked Volpino (1-9) 94-62 on Sunday. Faenza dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Volpino's 24. They outrebounded Volpino 38-21 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Faenza looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Point guard Mattia Venucci (188-90) scored 20 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Gioacchino Chiappelli (198-91, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Faenza players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Alessio Sabbadini (203-93) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Gianmarco Conte (191-97) scored 8 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Faenza moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Olginate and Forli Tigers. Volpino lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with nine games lost. Faenza will face Lugo (#10) on the road in the next round. Volpino will play against Reggio Emilia (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
