Regular Season Round 10: Porto S.Elpidio - Perugia 85-64

Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Perugia (3-7) was rolled over on the road by fifth ranked Porto S.Elpidio (6-4) 85-64 on Sunday. Porto S.Elpidio forced 19 Perugia turnovers and outrebounded them 41-25 including 31 on the defensive glass. Power forward Simone Zanotti (208-92) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Alberto Navarini (183-96, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Porto S.Elpidio players scored in double figures. At the losing side Umberto Meschini (188-94) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Joseph Mobio (199-97) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Porto S.Elpidio maintains fifth position in B with 6-4 record, which they share with Vicenza. Loser Perugia dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. Porto S.Elpidio will face Cerignola Udas (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Perugia will play against Recanati and hope to win that game.
