Regular Season Round 9: Good Angels - Slovan 92-55

Undefeated leader Good Angels delivered the tenth consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Slovan (1-8) 92-55 in Kosice. Good Angels dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Slovan's 14. Good Angels forced 27 Slovan turnovers and outrebounded them 44-24 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Slovan's players. Lithuanian center Daugile Sarauskaite (196-96) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and the former international center Anna Jurcenkova (195-85) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Good Angels players scored in double figures. Good Angels' coach Peter Jankovic felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Stella Tarkovicova (183-99) with 25 points and Marta Vargova (180-83) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Good Angels. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-0 record. Slovan lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Good Angels will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Slovan will play against UKF Nitra (#4) and hope to win that game.
