Regular Season Round 9: Legnano - Bertram Tortona 70-79

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Legnano (6-3) against eighth ranked Bertram Tortona (5-4) on Monday night. Host Legnano was defeated by Bertram Tortona in a tough game in Castellanza 70-79. It was a great shooting night for Bertram Tortona especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American guard Melvin Johnson (193-93, college: VCU) stepped up and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Lithuanian Paulius Sorokas (202-92, agency: Players Group) chipped in 11 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Bertram Tortona's coach Lorenzo Pansa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American Nikolas Raivio (192-86, college: Portland, agency: Pensack Sports) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import center William Mosley (203-89, college: Northwestern St.) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five Bertram Tortona and four Legnano players scored in double figures. Bertram Tortona moved-up to seventh place in A2. Legnano at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Bertram Tortona will play against higher ranked Lighthouse TRP (#6) in Trapani in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Legnano will play on the road against Eurobasket Roma and hopes to get back on the winning track.
