Regular Season Round 13: Atleticos - Metropolitanos 61-82

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas: Metropolitanos (#3) and Atleticos (#6). Atleticos were crushed at home by 21 points 61-82 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Metropolitanos outrebounded Atleticos 34-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jovanni Diaz (203-90) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Angel Blanco (179-97) contributed with 10 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Metropolitanos players scored in double figures. Grendy Correa answered with 18 points and guard Jean Almeida (186-94) added 8 points in the effort for Atleticos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Metropolitanos (11-9) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Metropolitanos maintains third place having just four point less than leader Guaros 2. Atleticos at the other side still closes the standings.
