Important game to mention about took place in Kiryat Gat. Fourth ranked Maccabi K/G (6-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Hap.Haifa (5-2) 78-75 on Tuesday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 16 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman LaMarcus Reed (196-88, college: Texas Arlington) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Hap.Haifa in the defeat. Four Hap.Haifa players scored in double figures. Hap.Haifa's coach Sharon Avrahami rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Maccabi K/G have a solid series of three victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Macc.Rehovot lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Hap.Haifa at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Maccabi K/G will play against Hap.R/G Givat. (#3) in Givataim in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hap.Haifa will play at home against Maccabi Raanana and hopes to get back on the winning track.
