Everything went according to plan when Olimpico de La Banda (1-0) defeated at home Argentino (1-1) 105-90 on Wednesday. Olimpico de La Banda looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 6 assists. American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) contributed with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Luciano Massarelli (183-93) answered with 26 points and 4 assists and American power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St.) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Argentino. Five Olimpico de La Banda and four Argentino players scored in double figures. Argentino's coach Eduardo Japez let to play ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Olimpico de La Banda will face Quimsa (#18) in Santiado del Estero in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Argentino will play at home against GECR Indalo (#11) and hope to win that game.
