Regular Season Round 13: Atleticos - Metropolitanos 66-94

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Caracas: Metropolitanos (#3) and Atleticos (#6). Atleticos were crushed at home by 28 points 66-94 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Metropolitanos shot 62.7 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Metropolitanos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Yochuar Palacios (183-88) stepped up and scored 14 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and Nelson Palacios (192-92) chipped in 9 points and 4 assists. Metropolitanos' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Christian Marquez responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and Grendy Correa scored 20 points and 5 assists. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Metropolitanos. Newly promoted Metropolitanos maintains third place with 11-9 record having just four point less than leader Guaros 2. Atleticos lost their twentieth game in a row. They still close the standings.
