An interesting game was played in Vimpeli where Kouvottaret (#8) won against host ViVe (#5) 72-67 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 26-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Layne Murphy (188, college: Chicago St.) scored 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Whitney Frazier (180-92, college: Louisiana Tech) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four ViVe players scored in double figures. Kouvottaret maintains eighth position with 3-6 record. ViVe lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with five games lost. Kouvottaret will meet at home higher ranked Peli-Karhut (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ViVe will play against Helmi Basket in Helsinki and hope to secure a win.
