Universo/Vitoria has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Botafogo F.R. (1-4) 86-76. Universo/Vitoria players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The former international Andre Bresolin (195-87) nailed 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) accounted for 13 points and 4 assists. Universo/Vitoria's coach Regis Marrelli allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Gabriel De-Oliveira (202-93) came up with 17 points and Andre Coimbra (206-86, college: Cent.Michigan) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Botafogo F.R. in the defeat. Universo/Vitoria (1-3) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with Vasco Da G. It was Botafogo F.R.'s third loss in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. Universo/Vitoria will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Botafogo F.R. will play on the road against SKY/Basquete (#17) in Aldeota to get more than just one victory in their record.
