Regular Season Round 11: Sammic ISB - Manresa 62-71

There was no surprise in Azpeitia where 14th ranked Sammic ISB (4-7) was defeated by third ranked La ICL Manresa (9-2) 71-62 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 36-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for forward Jordi Trias (208-80) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Danish guard Gabriel Lundberg (193-94) helped adding 14 points. Canadian guard Joe De-Ciman (198-94, college: Colorado St.) responded with 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Bosnian Mirza Bulic (207-92) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. La ICL Manresa maintains third place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Breogan. Sammic ISB lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. La ICL Manresa will meet at home Leyma Basquet (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sammic ISB will play against Barca II (#11) in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
