Regular Season Round 13: UCD Marian - Eanna 84-79

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Dublin: UCD Marian (#1) and Eanna (#8). Despite it looked like an easy game for UCD Marian, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Guest Eanna challenged much higher ranked UCD Marian giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by five points 84-79. UCD Marian players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American guard Mike Garrow (193-91, college: E.Connecticut) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and international guard Barry Drumm (186-87) accounted for 17 points and 15 assists. American point guard Tamron Manning (193-93, college: Ky Wesleyan) came up with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Aidan Dunne (198-97) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Eanna in the defeat. UCD Marian maintains first place with 9-2 record. Eanna at the other side dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. UCD Marian will play against bottom-ranked KUBS (#12) in Greendale in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Eanna's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Templeogue.
