Regular Season Round 5: Flying Foxes - Olimpia Brasov 86-93

The game between Top Four teams took place in Vienna. 3rd placed Austrian host Flying Foxes (1-3) lost to leader Romanian Olimpia Brasov (4-0) 93-86. Olimpia Brasov looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Aliyyah Handford (175-94, college: St.John's) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists and 6 steals for the winners and forward Portia Durrett (185-92, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 27 points and 8 rebounds. Four Olimpia Brasov players scored in double figures. Olimpia Brasov's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Samantha Logic (175-92, college: Iowa, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists and forward Nina Davis (180-94, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Olimpia Brasov have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Defending Austrian champion Flying Foxes keep the third position with three games lost. They share it with Zabiny Brno. Olimpia Brasov are looking forward to face league's second-placed Alba Iulia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Flying Foxes will play against Zabiny Brno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
