Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Jyvaskyla BA (4-5) beat on the road 12th ranked Jarvenpaa (1-9) 90-77 on Friday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 13 points. Jyvaskyla BA dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Jarvenpaa's 28. Jyvaskyla BA forced 20 Jarvenpaa turnovers. Point guard Robert Juvonen (185-91) scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Miikka Marttinen (195-92) chipped in 21 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (193-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and Villematti Kopio (183-92) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jarvenpaa's coach Jarkko Lanu let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Jyvaskyla BA moved-up to eighth place in Division. Loser Jarvenpaa keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. Jyvaskyla BA will face Oulun NMKY (#9) at home in the next round. Jarvenpaa will play against Pyrinto II in Tampere and hope to win that game.
