Regular Season Round 10: Beikong FD - Jilin NE T. 109-96

Rather expected game in Beijing where 16th ranked Jilin Tigers (2-8) were defeated by fourteenth ranked Fly Dragons (5-5) 109-96 on Friday. Fly Dragons outrebounded Jilin Tigers 48-36 including 18 on the offensive glass. Jilin Tigers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 22 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) chipped in 22 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Carl Landry (206-83, college: Purdue) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and his fellow American import guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Fly Dragons moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Jilin Tigers lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Fly Dragons will face league's leader Flying Leopards in Yingkou in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jilin Tigers will play at home against Beijing Ducks (#5) and hope to win that game.
