No shocking result in a game when Instituto (2-0) beat Comunicaciones (0-2) in Mercedes 75-66 on Friday. It was a very good performance for American forward Dwayne Davis (196-89, college: S.Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. His fellow American import center Sam Clancy (202-80, college: USC) contributed with 6 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American-Italian forward Ryan Amoroso (205-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and Arn Lucas (197-89) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Comunicaciones. Four Comunicaciones players scored in double figures. Instituto will face Hispano Am. (#17) in Rio Gallegos in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Comunicaciones will play at home against San Lorenzo and hope to win that game.
