An interesting game for Perth Wildcats (8-3) which played road game in Auckland against top-ranked New Zealand Breakers (9-3). Second ranked Perth Wildcats had an easy win 89-73. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The winners were led by Cameroonian-American forward JP Tokoto (198-93, college: N.Carolina) who scored that evening 25 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international forward Jesse Wagstaff (203-86, college: Metro St.) supported him with 19 points. Even 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by New Zealand center Alex Pledger (215-87, college: Belm.Abbey) did not help to save the game for New Zealand Breakers. Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) added 10 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perth Wildcats have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 8-3 record behind leader Breakers. Loser New Zealand Breakers still keep top place with three games lost.
