Regular Season Round 7: Lille - Fos-Provence 69-67

The most exciting game of round 7 in the ProB took place in Lille. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Provence Basket (4-3) to second ranked Lille Metropole (6-1) 69-67 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Provence Basket. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Lille Metropole made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (192-85) fired 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Florent Tortosa (198-89) chipped in 14 points. Five Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Lille Metropole's coach Jean-Marc Dupraz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Edouard Choquet (188-88) produced 15 points and 7 assists and Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Lille Metropole maintains second place with 6-1 record behind leader Orleans, which they share with Roanne. Provence Basket at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Lille Metropole is looking forward to face Nantes (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Provence Basket will play against Chorale de Roanne (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
